Mr. James P. Vaden, 80, of Batavia, Il, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Delnor Hospital, Geneva, IL. He was born on November 30, 1933 in Hamburg, Arkansas to Thomas Amy Vaden. He is survived by his wife Charlene of Harrisburg, his son Darrell (Cathy) Vaden of Batavia, IL, his daughter Virginia Vaden of Harrisburg, and his son Thomas (Sandra) Vaden of Cumberland City, TN. He is a proud and loving grandfather to 8 Grandchildren. Kelly (Jose) Robles Adam Sorenson of Batavia, IL, Lana Mare Hendrix Nina Vaden of Clarksville, TN, Thomas Vaden of Clarksville, TN, Theresa Soto of Jonesboro, AR, Joshua Soto of Oklahoma, and Jimmy Darrell Soto of Searcy, AR. He loved his 13 Great Grandchildren, Brian Vaden, Braze Kade Soto of Harrisburg, AR, Kristen (Madison) Lowe Anthony Soto of Jonesboro, AR, Devin Deion Patterson, and Skylar Vaden of Cumberland City, TN, Sandra, Savannah Chloe Vaden of Clarksville, TN, LilliAnn Landon Soto of Louisana. James was also survived by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Jack Vaden, John (Dorothy) Vaden, Robert (Trish) Vaden and Mac Vaden. His sisters are Shirley (Grady) Elliot, Martha (Tab) Gates, and Carolyn Williams. James was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Carol Ann, a brother Bill Vaden, and 4 sisters, Lotti May Chrisler, Margie Wright, Lorraine Gay and Mary Alice. James enjoyed playing the guitar, singing country and gospel music. He loved playing pool at the Geneva Senior Center, and watching the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He was an excellent player of Dominos, and could beat just about anyone! During the day he loved to watch reruns of old westerns when he wasn't helping in the garden or playing with the dogs. Visitation will be Friday night from 6pm-8pm and service will be Saturday at 10am at Gregg-Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg, AR. Burial will be held immediately following the service on Saturday at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetary. In Lieu of flowers, donations for memorial stone may be made to Darrell Vaden.
