Obituary

Imboden- James Newton Thames of Imboden, Arkansas died January 20, 2014. He was the husband of Lacrecia Sue Statler. Mr. Thames was born on February 19, 1949 in Amarillo, Texas and resided in Austin, Texas most of his life. In 2005, he married his beloved wife Lacrecia Statler. Upon his retirement in 2012, the couple moved to Imboden, Arkansas, to be near Lacrecia's family. Mr. Thames served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1983. He served aboard ship as a radio operator during and after the Vietnam War. Following military service, he worked for the State of Texas in Austin in various capacities from 1984 until his retirement in 2012. Mr. Thames was preceded in death by his father, Elmo Lavern Thames. He is survived by his mother, Joan Boston Thames Carrell of Temple, Texas, his brother, William Dayton Carrell of Temple, Texas, a son Tommy Boston Thames of Las Vegas, Nevada and three step sons from Thailand. Visitation will be Thursday, January 23,2014 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. with funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Kaiser officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
