James E. (Sonny) Williams, 67, of Dalton, formerly of Walnut Ridge went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Sonny was born March 06, 1946 in Walnut Ridge to the late Jack L and Ruby Rhodes Williams. Sonny grew up in the Giles Spur Community where he lived his entire life until he retired from farming. He worked many years growing rice and soybeans. Sonny was a wonderful provider for his girls. Once he retired , he moved to the hills to be out of the mosquitos. He was a Charter Member of United Free Will Baptist in Walnut Ridge and The National Guard. Sonny if survived by his wife of 46 years JoAnn Tate Williams, children Stacy Lynn Williams of Walnut Ridge, Marsha Denise (Ricky) Walker, grandchildren Austin Seth Williams of Pocahontas, Mady Claire McGinnis and Mason Patrick McGinnis of Walnut Ridge, Abby Kate Rogers of Pocahontas. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ruby Williams, infant daughter, Shelley Annette, and sister Mary Jane Wheeless. Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at McNabb Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Glenn Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you leave a lasting memorial in his honor to the Children's Shelter in Walnut Ridge or the United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.
