Pocahontas - James Loron Ring, 82, passed away August 31, 2009 at his home. He was born August 27, 1927 in Eaton, AR to the late Jesse and Elsie (Allen) Ring. He is preceded in death by 7 brothers; Weldon, Eldon, Owen, Sherman, Jay, Ted, and Hershel Ring. He is survived by wife, Jean (Rickey) Ring of the home. 4 children; Gail and son-in-law, Ron Bray of Quitman, AR. Randy and daughter-in-law, Janet Ring of Pocahontas. Steve and daughter-in-law, Ann Ring of Pocahontas. And Cheryl and son-in-law, Johnny Harp of Lowell, AR. 9 grandchildren; Christie Bray of Georgetown, KY. Justin Bray of Rosebud, AR. Angie Chandler of Dodson, LA. Blake Ring of Paragould, AR. Brandi Chester of Pocahontas. Heath Ring of Walnut Ridge. Hunter Ring of Pocahontas. Matt Harp of Rogers, AR. And Kassi Harp of Lowell, AR. 11 great grandchildren. 2 sisters; Dorothy Scott of Poplar Bluff, MO and Juanita Smith of Centerton, AR. Brother, Herman Ring of Van Buren, AR Mr. Ring attended Southern Baptist College in Walnut Ridge. He served in the Air Force. He was the owner of Ring Realty and a retired real estate broker. He was also the deacon at the Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. And he worked on Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo Space Program at McDonald Aircraft in St. Louis, MO. Military Honors will be performed by Promberger Traw Post #4556. Service will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow to Sutton Cemetery with Randy and Ben Scott. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 also at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. McNabb Funeral Home was in charge of making arrangements.
