Obituary

Mr. James E. Riley of Harrisburg, departed this life Wednesday night, August 30, 2017, at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg at the age of 89.
He was born August 7, 1928 in Cherry Valley, AR, the son of the late Oliver Roland Riley and Mary Lula Dickerson Riley.
James was a farmer and drove a propane truck for Wixson Brothers. He loved woodworking and making clocks. He was an avid duck hunter and caller and was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Dorothy Cooper on September 24, 1949 and they enjoyed 68 years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Teresa Kaye Witt, a son-in-law, Rick Armstrong, two brothers, Reed Riley and L.D. Riley, and one sister, Naomi McCulley.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Riley of Harrisburg, two daughters, Wanda Armstrong of Harrisburg and Vicki Sanders (Lawrence) of Neosho, MO, one son, Dennis Riley (Mary) of Cherry Valley, one brother, George Riley (Lennie) of Paragould, one sister, Mary Louise Early of Edwardsville, IL, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Mr. Tim Davis and Mr. Lawrence Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Tyre Cemetery near Cherry Valley. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, 1:30-3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Zac Witt, Jamey Armstrong, Bryan Reiboldt, Jeff Bradshaw, Daniel Humphrey, Karry Witt, and Michael Cooper.
