James Dee
Oxborrow
October 18, 1940 – April 24, 2026
James Dee Oxborrow, a longtime resident of Ravenden Springs and previously Coalinga, California, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026 peacefully at home on the ranch at the age of 85.
Jim was the middle son born to Walter and Helen Oxborrow on October 18, 1940 in Ely, Nevada. From the time he was born, his kind demeanor and constant smile was a trait he was known for. Jim could brighten anyone’s day just by walking into the room.
Jim grew up with a sense of purpose. He was the kind of man who fixed what was broken whether it was a piece of machinery or someone’s faith in themselves. There was an ease about him, a natural generosity, that never asked for recognition. He loved deeply, listened intently, and believed in doing things the right way the first time. He was compassionate, kind hearted, a man of his word, and a loyal friend. He cherished those friendships. We are all so thankful for the life lessons he shared about determination, selflessness and love for family.
Jim enjoyed meeting friends for coffee and breakfast at the local cafes or their homes. Those shared cups of coffee, his heartfelt advice through genuine conversations were followed by plenty of laughs and love. To all that knew him he was known as “Good Guy”.
Prior to moving to Arkansas, Jim spent his early years working in the family business L. D. Folsom, Inc. for years before starting his own paving and grading business. Most remember him as a lifelong friend and even as family. Around 1983, Jim moved to Ravenden Springs and settled into the life of a rancher raising cattle and horses. He enjoyed the ranch bringing families together for fourth of July celebrations by the river.
He was a dedicated member of the House of Study. He was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Helen Oxborrow, his older brother Raymond Oxborrow, his younger brother Randy Oxborrow, sister-in-laws Darlene Church and Arlene Bradford, nephews John Oxborrow and Walter Church.
Jim leaves behind his wife Karen Sue, cherished daughter Katherine Allen of Pocahontas, son Jim Oxborrow, spouse Shannon of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Suzanne Oxborrow of Pocahontas, twin grandchildren Kenzie and Ronnie Nicoli and great grandson Luca James.
For nephew Gunner Bradford, Jim was a father figure and mentor. Gunner’s wife Theresa, Patrick, Cody and Whitney, nephews Ken Oxborrow, (Nina) and family. Mike Oxborrow (Laura) and family, Dustin Oxborrow (Kyra) and family, Walter Oxborrow (Shannon) and family. Nieces, Robin Toy and family, Dorthea Jiminez and family, Kim Church.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 27th at 11:00 at 12081 Hwy 90 West, Ravenden Springs on his beautiful ranch at the old pear tree on the hill.
The entire family of Jim Oxborrow would like to thank you for your love and support through this difficult time. Jim cared deeply, loved greatly and lived for others. All of you meant a great deal to him.
