Mr. James Edward Maddox "Jim Ed" of Harrisburg, AR, departed this life Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 68.

He was born December 7, 1952 in Harrisburg, AR the son of the late Herman P. Maddox Jr. and Jane Frances Maddox. He married Debbie Griffin on December 30, 1998 and they shared 21 years together.

Jim Ed was a 1971 graduate of Harrisburg High School. After high school he joined the National Guard and served six years as a helicopter pilot. He was a retired truck driver of 17 years. In his earlier life he enjoyed to hunt and fish. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed going to gun shows. Jim Ed was a tinkerer and he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and helicopters. In his later life he enjoyed being a part of the American Legion. Jim Ed loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Maddox of Harrisburg, AR, his daughters Angela Starr (Alan), of Mayflower, AR, Allison Clifft (Jason) of Conway, AR, Mallory Smith (Aaron) of Jonesboro, AR, Madison Daffron (Jacob) of Jonesboro, AR, and Karen Phillips of Jonesboro, AR, his sister Janet Staed (Bill) of Fort Smith, AR, his brothers Billy Maddox (Beth) of Jonesboro, AR, and Dan Maddox (Brenda) of Jonesboro, AR and eight grandchildren, Hillary Wilkerson, Brock Clifft, Haley Ansel, Beckett Smith, Everette Smith, Maddox Daffron, Brynley Daffron and Alex Phillips.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Mr. Don Martin. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Those serving as pallbearers are Jason Clifft, Aaron Smith, Alan Berry, Jacob Daffron, Brock Clifft, Alex Phillips, Luke Maddox, Todd Jumper, Ray Sharp, Jimmy May, and Thad Forrester.
