Jonesboro- James A. Lovell, 82, passed away Wednesday January 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 6, 1931 in Locust Grove to the late Herney Horace Lovell and Ora Erasie Richardson Lovell. Mr. Lovell was retired after 20 years of service from the United States Air Force. Afterretirement, he was the manager for Firestone Store in Trumann, Sherwin-Williams paint store in Batesville, Fred's in Jonesboro and also an insurance agent for Woodman of the World. Mr. Lovell was a member American Legion and Retired Enlisted Mens Assoication. He loved wood working and working in his garden. Mr. Lovell was of the Baptist belief. He is survived by his wife Virginia Lovell of the home; two sons, Michael Lovell of Jonesboro and Jeffery Lovell and wife Melissa of Howell, Michigan; five grandchildren, Shanna Lyn Hunt, Andrew Colin Lovell, Jessica Michelle Lovell, Stephanie Nicole Lovell and Aaron Matthew Lovell; three great grandchildren, Neil Alexander Hunt, Dylan Michael Hunt and Kaitlyn Jewell Hunt; three nephews; Wayne Brinkley, Michael Brinkley and Larry "Buddy" Lovell. He was proceded in death by a sister, Helen Ilene Brinkley; two brothers, Horace Lovell and H.C. Lovell. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 pm Monday January 20, 2014 at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral home at 300 W. Matthews in Jonesboro with Rev. Edward Pruett officating.Burial with military honors will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6.00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday January 19, 2014. Honored to serve as pallberers are Andrew Lovell, Aaron Lovell, David Qualls, Danny Qualls, Bobby Hunt and Paul Summitt and as honrary pallberers will be members of the American Legion.
