Pocahontas- James Olin "Jim" Thompson, 78 passed away July 4, 2016 at Five Rivers Medical Center. Jim was born January 13, 1938 in Pocahontas, AR to Clarence and Bessie Mitchell Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Carol Thompson; children: James Mitchell (Lana) Thompson, Nancy Thompson (Lisa Mitchum), Greg Enix; grandchildren: Mariah Thompson, Charles "Nick" Springstead, Alex Dunkle; sisters: Doris Eckhardt and Mildred Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Karen Springstead; grandson Stephen Thompson; sisters: Hazel Pickett, Joyce Christie and Mary Magruder. Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2016 from 1-2 pm at McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 2 pm with Carl Massey officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Randolph County Library.
