Gainesville, VA - James Eldon Jarrett, born October 11, 1934, son of James Ervin and Mary Alice Woolridge Jarrett, departed this life at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, VA on Friday, September 21, 2012 at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 21 days. Eldon was very active in church. He served as a deacon for the First Baptists Church in Annandale, VA and the Haymarket Baptist Church in Haymarket, VA. Eldon attended the rural Jarrett School and graduated from Maynard High School. He continued his education at Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, D.C. graduating with a degree in accounting. Eldon had a long career as a Certified Public Accountant. He established his own accounting firm in Virginia. Eldon was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Ervin and Mary Alice Wooldrige Jarrett; two sisters, Bernadine Hill and Minerva Alice Hill; two brothers, Lewis Conway and James Joe Jarrett. Eldon is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Joan Findlay Jarrett of the home in Gainesville, VA; sons Billy Findlay Jarrett and James Eldon Jarrett, Jr. Of Annandale, VA. Eldon is also survived by one brother; Bennie Ervin and wife Jennie of Randolph County, Arkansas. Eldon is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved and enjoyed visiting. Funeral will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with nephews, Jason Rapert and Jim Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Jarrett Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. Pallbearers include: sons and nephews, Dickie Jarrett, John Jarrett, James Jarrett, Arnold Jarrett, Joe Jarrett, Gary Hill, Larry Hill, Billy Jarrett, and James Eldon Jarrett, Jr.
