James Michael Hatch (Mike), born August 17, 1951 to Hershel Hatch and Frances Vaughn Hatch at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, passed to his heavenly home June 28th, 2025. Mike was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mike farmed in his early adult life until 1985. He later went to work in construction for HB Zachary, and helped build the first Nucor steel mill in Blytheville. Upon completion, he went to work at Nucor-Yamato Steel, and retired in 2016 after 26 years. Mike was a member of Black Oak Methodist Church, he was a perfectionist and loved fishing, deer, elk and turkey hunting. He particularly loved hunting with his long bow.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Hershel, and brother, Thomas Gordon Hatch. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cindy, daughter Krisiti (Jeff) Austin of Monette, son, Brian Hatch of Paragould, two grandsons, Ryan (Shelly) Austin of Monette and Layne (Allison) Austin of Russellville, one great granddaughter, Brooklyn Mae Austin, mother, Frances Hatch of Lake City, sister, Vickie (Lynn) White of Needham, and a brother, Paul (Patty) Hatch of McCrory. Mike had a special aunt Ramona "Pete" and her husband Charlie Welch. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and a whole host of friends.
Visitation is set for Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Monette Methodist Church from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jared Russell and Rev. Jerry Reed officiating.
Mike will be laid to rest at Monette Cemetery.
