Obituary

Mr. James Morris Ezell, of Jonesboro, formerly of Weiner, departed this life Saturday, November 19, 2016, in Jonesboro, at the age of 90.
He was born April 8, 1926 in Coxey, Alabama, the son of the late L.H. Ezell and Jessie Owens Ezell.
James was a member of the Stone Ridge Church of Christ in Jonesboro. He served on the State Committee of the Republican Party of Arkansas. He was appointed to ASCS and was a member of the Lion's Club, the Sertoma Club, the Elks Lodge, the American Legion and the Catfish Club. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the 69th Infantry in Germany. He was also a member of the National Guard. He married Allamae Garner on December 5, 1964 and they enjoyed 52 years together. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.H. and Jessie Ezell and one brother, Winston Ezell.
He is survived by his wife, Allamae Ezell of the home, one daughter, Karen Lassiter and her husband Rick of Vienna, VA, one son, David Ezell and his wife Amy of Maumelle, two sisters, Martha Neal of Memphis, TN and Sarah Springer of Lawrenceburg, TN, five grandchildren, Nikki Lassiter, Brooke Hawkins, Caroline Ezell, Sam Ezell, and Jack Ezell, and two great grandsons, Quentin Hawkins and Jack Hawkins.
Graveside funeral services have been set for Noon Tuesday, at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Dick Blackford officiating with full military honors. Friends may visit at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro Tuesday morning, 10:00 -11:30 a.m.
