Jonesboro- James Harold Chaplain, 87, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

He was born July 24, 1936 to the late Ernest and Emma Herman Chaplain. James was a graduate of Valley View High School and Melton School of Business. He worked several years at Riceland Foods. He served proudly as a SSGT in the Arkansas National Guard. James was also a 32nd Degree Mason. He was the former owner of Chaplain Brothers Inc, Plumbing, Heating and Air and Electrical. He has also been the City of Jonesboro's Electrical Inspector for many years. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Piersall (Caleb) of Keller, TX, Steven Chaplain of Jonesboro and Jeff Chaplain (Shelley) of Brookland; asister, Brenda Bennett; a brother, Ricky Chaplain; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Faye Conway Chaplain; son, Terry Chaplain; a brother, Lonnie Chaplain and a sister, Bonnie Coggin.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Danny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow.
