Obituary

Maynard- James Wesley Barnett, 86, passed away December 24, 2017 at home.

James was born January 8, 1931 in Ingram, AR to Hite and Rowena Gupton Barnett. He served in the Army during the Korean War and received a Combat Infantry Badge and 2 Bronze Stars. He was a member of the George Washington Lodge for 49 years and a Past Master and Past High Priest of Rabboni Chapter Royal Arch Masons. He was also a Life member of the VFW. He loved baseball and fishing and playing pitch with the Maynard Boys.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Jo Luter; children, Kent (Vicky) Barnett, Kelly Barnett both of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Erika (Matt) Duenwald, Jenny Barnett both of St. Louis, MO; great grandchildren Spencer and Lincoln Duenwald; brother, Lee (Karen) Barnett of St. Peters, MO; niece, Allyson (Brandon) Putz; great nephew, Malcolm Putz.

Both services will be at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5-7 pm. The funeral will be Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2 pm with Bill Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Barnett Cemetery.
