James Roy Baker, retired petroelum landman, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2012. He was born in Randolph County, Arkansas, August 30, 1917, to William Perry and Florence Bryan Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Carl Laverne, Perry Bryan, and William Troy (Roy\u0027s twin). He was a charter member and deacon of Baptist Temple Church in Oklahoma City, and he was a long-time employee of Harper Turner Oil Company. Mr. Baker retired from Occidental Petroleum Company in September, 1982. Upon retirement he moved to the old family farm home he had restored on Baker Den Road in Randolph County Arkansas which served as the primary residence until 2006. He returned to Oklahoma City where he lived until his death. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Virginia, also of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Patricia Lee Prescott (Charles) of Shawnee; a son, James Alan (Melissa Farrow,) of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Susan Ann Wooten (Bill) of Clemson, SC; six grandchildren, Amy Estelle Jackson of Mustang; David Joseph Prescott of Miami; Leslie Allison Stewart of Grand Junction, CO; Lori Elizabeth Printz of Aluquerque, NM; Zachary Baker Wooten of New York, NY; Nathaniel Kenton Wooten of Greenwich, CT; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial gifts may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. There will be a memorial service at The Mansion in Oklahoma City at 2:30 pm. on Wednesday, June 6. On Friday, June 8, following visitation from 12:00-2:00 and a brief service from 2:00-2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, AR, interment will be in Stubblefield Cemetery in Randolph County, AR, with Dr. Jerol Swaim presiding at the service.
