Dardanelle - James C. Anthony, 54, passed away April 15, 2017 in Dardanelle. He was born March 29, 1963 in Jonesboro.

James was a member of First Methodist Church in Jonesboro and was a special education teacher for 27 years with both the Nettleton and Blytheville Schools. He was a life-long Disney fan and had traveled to Disney World twenty times. James was also an avid Razorback fan but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family.

Survivors include his brothers, Scott Smith (Theresa) of Dardanelle and Larry Harper (Robin) of Caraway; father, Earnest "Shorty" Griggs of Caraway; niece, Megan Strain (Will) and grand-niece, Lucy Jo Strain all of Lakeview; nephews, Aaron Smith (Ashton) of Russellville, Dustin Harper of New Mexico and Eric Harper of Caraway; a great-nephew, Bentley Harper of Black Oak; as well as several first cousins with whom he was very close.

Preceding James in death are his mother, Judy Harper Griggs; grandmother, Mary Harper and grandfather, Clovis "Tobe" Harper.

A celebration of James life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 at the Chapel of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Bonnie Dueter speaking. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.
