Obituary

Mr. James B. Alexander of Jonesboro, departed this life Monday morning at his home, at the age of 86. He was born October 8, 1926 in Black Oak, Arkansas, the son of the late Otto Alexander and Alice Blalock Alexander. James served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and then served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He retired from the FAA in Memphis, TN and was a pilot. He was currently building his own ultra-light plane and actively jogged three miles a day. He married JoAnn Caplinger on January 20, 1990 and they enjoyed 23 years together. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Max Alexander. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Caplinger Alexander of the home, two sons, Stephen Alexander of Jackson, GA and Philip Alexander of Jonesboro, and one brother, Dale Alexander of Jonesboro. Burial will be private under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. There will be no visitation.
