Pocahontas- Jacob Foster Hufstedler, 99, of Pocahontas passed away at his home February 28, 2017, surrounded by family. He would have been 100 years old on March 12. His late parents were Roy Cecil and Maudie Luter Hufstedler of Biggers. Mr. Hufstedler was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. He was WWII Veteran and avid Cardinals Baseball fan.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Harris Hufstedler, a daughter, Sandra Holmes McElwain, a grandson, Johnny Holmes, a step-son, Bill Burr, and a great great grandson, Travis Bain.
He is survived by his wife, Charlcie Burr Hufstedler of the home; a step-daughter, Jennifer Burr of Pocahontas; one son, Richard (Jane) Hufstedler of Ohio; two daughters, Sheila (Lowell) Rose and Carol (Scott) Wise, both of Pocahontas, and son-in-law, Roy McElwain, of Memphis. Grandsons, Jimmy Holmes of Atlanta; Eddie (Christy) Rose and Ryan (Janet) Rose of Pocahontas, Nathan Wise of Bentonville. Granddaughters, Patricia Holmes of Atlanta; Michelle (Matt) Bohl, Amy Hufstedler, and Muriah Wise all of Ohio. Great grandsons, Christopher Holmes of Florida, Michael Bundy of North Carolina, Matthew and Lucas Bohl, Corey Hufstedler of Ohio, and Blake Rose of Pocahontas. Great granddaughters, Christina Bain of North Carolina, Lauren Rose of Pocahontas, and Hadley Rose of Paragould. Also surviving are 8 great-great grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 12-2 pm at the Pyburn Street Church of Christ with a funeral service immediately following at 2 pm with Dennis McCarthy and Grant Killion officiating. Burial in Hite Cemetery.
