Obituary

"Mr. Jackie Dan Bethel, of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday, September 18, 2025, at his home, at the age of 81.
He was born on January 18, 1944, in Russellville, AR, the son of the late Jack Bethel and Rebecca Gutherie Bethel.
Jackie was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Kansas Bow Hunters Association for 50 years and started the Santa Fe Bow Hunters Association. Jackie enjoyed collecting antiques, sharing his knowledge on their history, and displaying his treasure in his home.  He loved spending time outdoors, whether it be in the woods, the garden or on a boat in the water. He was an avid bow hunter and fisherman and loved telling stories of his outdoor adventures. He lived in Shawnee, Kansas for many years before moving to Harrisburg three years ago.
In addition to his parents, Jack and Rebecca Bethel, he was preceded in death by his wife: Jane Grigsby Bethel, a brother; Jim Bethel and a sister; Kay Burright.
He is survived by two daughters:  Marinnia Bright of Richmond, TX and Shanna Traynom of Harrisburg. One son; Reid Bethel of Danville, one stepson; Dan Toth of Belton, MO, 8 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date."
