Lake City- J C Bland, 87, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his residence. He was born on October 21, 1926 in Spario, Oklahoma to the late Elmer and Dollie Bland. Mr. J C retired after 34 years with Singer Factory in Trumann and was a member of the Lunsford Baptist Church. He enjoyed mowing yards and gardening. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen Taber Bland; a son and his wife, Michael and Karen Bland of Lake City; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Kenneth Householder of Lake City and Delois and Robert Gatewood of Paragould; a daughter-in-law, Linda Bland of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Tammy Davis, Sherry Roach, Cindy Howard, Miranda Wheeler and Jared Bland; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Pearlene Garrison, Bernadine Bland and Oleta Lang; a son, Jerry Bland and a grandson, David Householder. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Taylor and Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, January 3, 2014 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Donald Hood, Gene Cambron, Derek Robinson, Chad Davis, Donnie Hutchison and Jim Ladd. Lasting memorials may be sent to Lunsford Baptist Church.
