Obituary

Pocahontas - Imogene (Barnes) McCleskey (86) departed this life on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 26, 1926 to Pearl \u0026 Edith (Davis) Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, Dr. Edgar Wayne McCleskey and her two sons Brian and Kevin McCleskey. She is survived by her beloved grandchildren- Shawn McCleskey of Memphis, TN, J.L. McCleskey and his wife Tabby of Pocahontas, and Carol (McCleskey) Allen and her husband Josh also of Pocahontas. Imogene grew up in the Black Rock area, later taught Math in the Pocahontas School District then retired to join her husband as his receptionist at his dental office in Pocahontas, McCleskey Clinic. She met her husband Wayne, as a patient at his dental clinic. They were happily married for 62 years. Imogene enjoyed traveling, spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking for every meal, sewing, and especially caring for her beloved animals. The most important thing to Imogene, other than her family, was her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a strong and faithful servant. She attended the Pyburn Street Church of Christ for the last 50 years. She loved her church family. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to Children's Homes Inc., located in Paragould Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 in the Pyburn Street Church of Christ with Dr. Grant Killion and Lt. Col. Dennis McCarty. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at 1:00 prior to the service. McNabb Funeral Home was in charge of making arrangements. Pallbearers include: Shawn, J.L., and Michael McCleskey, Don Wilson, Michael Biddle and Travis Cline. Honorary Pallbearers include: G.W. Allison, Joshua Allen, Byron Futrell, Max Long and Ray Shaver
