Houston Earl Thomas, age 87, of Black Oak passed away Friday, Nov. 15th at his home. He was born and raised in Rivervale and lived in Black Oak for over 50 years. He was a truck driver, sawed timber, and after he retired he fixed and sold cars. He loved the outdoors, enjoying nature, and fishing. He and his wife, Georgia, were married for 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Ruby Waldon Thomas, four brothers, and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Thomas, of the home; Sons, Stacey (Keri) Thomas, of Black Oak, and Chris (Tiffany) Thomas, of Brookland; grandchildren, Karoline Thomas, Hailey Thomas, Tanner Thomas, and Trey Thomas; sister, Connie Thomas, of Black Oak and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 18th beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home of Monette. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Duffel officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, Rick Thomas, Landon Thomas, Steve Hickey, William Bond, Adam Bond, and Garrett Bond.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Allen Smith and Scott McLaughlin
