Pocahontas - Homer H. Tyer, 92, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Five Rivers Medical Center. Born July 07, 1920 in Randolph County to the late Joseph and Ida Tyer. He is also preceded in death by his wife Emma Irene Tyer and sister Audrey Allison. He is survived by son Homer Leo Tyer of Pocahontas, daughter Sandra Lambert of Pocahontas, five grandchildren; Michelle Higginbotham, Jessie Vandergriff, Treona Harris, Michael Tyer and special granddaughter, Terrie Jean Cresap, and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Spikes Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Pallbearers include: Michael Tyer, Dewayne Cresap, Kenny Higginbotham, Jessie Vandergriff Elby Lambert and Dean Vandergriff. Honorary Pallbearers: Zac Vandergriff, Ryan Higginbotham, Seth Cresap, Nathan Morris .
