Obituary

Brentwood TN- Hite Eugene Tiner, 91, passed away Thursday September 04, 2014. Hite was born April 07, 1923 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to the late James Calvin and Beulah Elizabeth Tiner. Hite is survived by his wife Glenda Truel Tiner of the home, sons Billy Don (Brenda) Tiner of San Antonio, TX and David (Janina) Tiner of Brentwood, TN. Grandchildren Lauren tiner of San Antonio, TX, Colby Tiner of Alexandria, VA, Sarah Kate (Craig) Anderson of Perth Australia, John David (Tessa)Tiner of Nashville, TN and Anna Beth Tiner of Brentwood, TN. Hite is preceded in death by his parents James and Beulah Tiner, and Brothers Jimmy Jeff Tiner, Leon Tiner and Elmo Tiner. Hite was a member of Pyburn Street Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and an usher. Hite opened, closed and maintained the Church building for many years. He built the fellowship hall at the church. He was honored in 2003 by the Church with Hite Tiner Appreciation Day on his 80th birthday. He was a City Alderman for 20 years, city plumbing and electrical Inspector. He also carried the down marker for the Pocahontas Redskins from 1969-1979. In the 60\u0027s he was a Little League Baseball coach, he also built and maintained the ball fields and concession stand for many years. One of the highlights of his life was a trip to Pearl Harbor where he received a flag that was flown over the USS Arizona. Hite was a great woodworker and spent many hours in his beloved shop. He and Glenda were members of the Good Sam RV Club for 10 years. Hite was also a member of the morning McDonalds coffee club where they solved many of the world's problems over a few cups of coffee. Services will be held in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Visitiation will be Sunday September 07, 2014 from 1-2:00 p.m. with a Funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery.
