Hildred had a deep love of Jesus and found his calling as a pastor at the Apostolic Jesus Name Assembly Church in Salem, WI. He served as pastor there for over 45 years and loved every one of them. Hildred especially enjoyed the singing and preaching and took great pride in working with his church. Outside of the church he enjoyed working on small engines much to the pleasure of his neighbors who were always bringing him motors to fix. From the time his grandson was small, he would make him go carts out of lawnmowers. He loved people and quite a few people just stopped by to talk with him. He was known for his friendliness and kindness. He was always available to lend advice. Hildred also enjoyed vegetable gardening and would give the overabundance to members of his congregation. Hildred had a special skill when working with wood. The many fine furniture pieces and accessories he made will bring their owners memories of Hildred for years to come. When deer season came around, he enjoyed getting together with his grandson, brother, and nephews to enjoy the camaraderie and thrill of the hunt.
