Herbert Henry Zitzelberger 85, of Pocahontas, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, at St. Bernards Five Rivers Medical Center.

He was born February 17, 1938, to the late Joseph and Katherine Miles Zitzelberger in Engleberg. Herbert served our country in the Army and was of the Catholic faith.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Katherine Miles Zitzelberger; three brothers, Thomas, Julian, and Martin Zitzelberger; two sisters, Carolyn Cagle, and Marjorie Melton.

He is survived by brother, Victor (Sue) Zitzelberger of Maynard; sister, Betty (Lee) Taylor of Pocahontas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday, May 8, 2023, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary being said at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be 10:30 am Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at St. John Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. John Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Shane Taylor, Conrad Zitzelberger, Wayne Cagle, Luke Zitzelberger, Zach Zitzelberger and Scott Lewis.
