Obituary

Pocahontas - Herbert "H.L" Turner, Sr., 86, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Flo \u0026 Phil Hospice House. Born June 07, 1926 in Fender, AR to the late Herman and Gracie Turner. He is also preceded in death by his wife Freda Turner whom he married on July 11, 1950 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 11, 2010, brother Bill Turner and sister Ruth Dean. Mr. Turner retired from Esna after 17 years of employment. He was a long time member of Church of Christ. He battled with cancer for 4 ½ years. Mr. Turner is a WWII Veteran from the Navy. He is survived by children; Brenda (Charles) Ralph of Ohio, Susie (Rick) Knight of Illinois, Paula Perrydore of Missouri, Herbert (Charlotte) Turner of Texas, Ginny French of Illinois, Steve (Betty) Turner of New Mexico, Mike (Stacey) Turner of Texas, and Stanley (Shauntae) Turner of Arkansas. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Two brothers, Merle Turner and Kenneth Turner. The family would like to say thank you to Flo \u0026 Phil Hospice House and Americare Angel Green. Thanks to all family and friends for their help. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Ligie Waddell, Jr. officiating in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
