Obituary

Pocahontas- Hellen R. Franks, 93, passed away on January 18, 2016. Hellen was born May 4, 1922 in Adamsville, AL to the late Robert "Ike" and Lucille Storey Ray. She proudly served in Navy WAVES during WWII. She worked many years as a LPN at Randolph Memorial Hospital. She was also an operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of the Randolph County EHC for 50 years and helped various offices. She loved flowers and gardening. She is survived by sons Dennis (Cindy) Franks of NLR, Steve Franks of Maynard, grandchildren; Christina Baker, Ashley Franks, Kimberly (Tye) Mann, Valerie Franks, James (Shari) Franks, Christon (Danielle) Franks, Amanda Long, Tommie (James) Smith, 10 great grandchildren; brother Harold Ray of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters Antonette (Wayne) Capps of Weatherford, Texas, and Alice Estes of Thoreau, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo Franks, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Services will be at McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 5-6pm. Funeral service will be Friday, January 22, 2016 at 10am with Roger Smith officiating. Internment will be in Masonic Cemetery.
