Pocahontas- Helen Bates, 91, passed away August 31, 2017 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Helen was born June 9, 1926 in Pocahontas to the late Herbert and Vina Matthews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James M Bates; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
She is survived by sons, James E (Beverly) Bates, Dennis (Brinda) Bates both of Pocahontas; granddaughter, Deborah Bates of Pocahontas; sister, Wanda (Franklin) Tribble of Pocahontas; brother, Robert Matthews of California; along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2 pm at Randolph Memorial Gardens with Larry Rogers officiating. Arrangements entrusted to McNabb Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
