Helen Frances Wilson, age 92, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 6th in Jonesboro, Arkansas, surrounded by her two daughters.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Steven and Mary Srsha, originally from Croatia. Helen was a loving mother who devoted her life to caring for her daughter Paula, who has cerebral palsy. She was a survivor and a pillar of strength to those who knew her. Her courage, perseverance, and willingness to keep moving forward inspired her children and many others. She will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and encouragement.
Helen is survived by her son, Bobby Taylor of California; her daughter Donna and son-in-law, Dr. Andrew Kotis of Chicago; her daughter Paula Wilson of Jonesboro; stepdaughters Sharon Luff and Karen (Jack) Tucker; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant son who passed shortly after birth; her husband, George (GJ) Wilson of Jonesboro; her brothers, Johnny and Jack Srsha; and her sister, Mary Mayerhofer, all of Chicago.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Monette Manor, Flo & Phil’s Hospice House and nursing staff for their compassion and care during long final days.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 9th from 8–9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, followed by a funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is grateful for memorial contributions toward her final expenses or donations to the Church.
