Little Rock- Helen Kay Batey Schaefer, 70 passed away on January 27, 2018 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, AR surrounded by loved ones.

Helen was born December 9, 1947 in Blytheville, AR to Thelma and Bill Batey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Bill Batey; brothers, Herbert Batey, Billy Ray Batey, Jessie Louis Batey; sisters, Shirley Hawthorn and Eva Jo Weir.

She is survived by her loving companion, David Huffman of the home; 2 sons, Bobby Phillips of Mizoula, MT, Shep (Erin) Schaefer of Tallahassee, FL; 2 daughters, Jeannie (Mark) Blaney of Nokomis, FL, Sonia Schaefer of Tallahassee, FL; stepson, Adam Huffman of Paradise, CA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Cathey (Ron) McCullough of Heber Springs, Becky (Joe) Wyland of Pocahontas; 1 brother, Doyle (Deborah) Batey of Beebe, AR; along with many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 1-2pm at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service immediately following at 2 pm with Doyle Batey officiating. Burial will follow in Gravesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Josh Taylor, Robert Kearby, Tim Wyland, Allan McCullough, John Batey and David White.
