Caraway- Hazel Ruth Rhodes, 96, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born March 10, 1926 in Corning to the late Everett and Hazel Overby Long. She was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan. She enjoyed watching hallmark movies, and walking around town to exercise. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and loved being with her family and church family.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Rhodes and three sisters, Louise Fears, Crystal Long and Kathryn Wetchel.

She is survived by a daughter, Carla (David) Young of Desoto, Missouri; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Todd) Rottger of Troy, Missouri; a great-granddaughter, Layla Rottger; a brother, Vernon (Louise) Long; three sisters, Joyce (Dale) Pittman, Carol Crosley and Sue Wade and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

The visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service Saturday at the church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Randy Couch, Larry Anderson, Kenneth Winford, Randy Gipson, Adam Rhodes and Aaron Rhodes.
