Mr. Guy Mitchel King, of Harrisburg, departed this life Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at his home, at the age of 51.

He was born April 1, 1969 in Sarasota, Florida, the son of Guy Sherman King and Jean Davis King. Coach Mitchell was a 1987 graduate of Harrisburg High School and then spent several years at ASU in Jonesboro. At ASU, he participated in the Coaching Intern Program and spent many years assisting coaches at Harrisburg High School. He was a huge Hornet fan and thoroughly enjoyed his coaching career at HHS. In addition to coaching, he also enjoyed hunting. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one son, Jamason King of Jonesboro, his mother, Jean King-Brown (Tim) of Harrisburg, his brother, Jamie King of Jonesboro, and his grandmother, Rose Mary Davis of Bono. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy King.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Zach Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery at Bono.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday, 10:00 a.m. till service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Coach Keith Davis, Kevin Harlson, John Sumpter, Jerry Ebett, Michael Goodman and Derek Versie. Honorary pallbearers are Coach Doug Worley, Coach Tim Branum and Coach James Montgomery.
