Pocahontas - Gregory Allen "Gizmo" Gamso, 62, of Pocahontas passed away September 24, 2019 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born December 26, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Leo W (Buddy) Gamso and Doris Hayes Moudy. Greg was a graduate of Maynard High School and ASU. He was a retired Yellow Freight Driver and he was the most highly requested Sub-Teach Teacher at Pocahontas Schools. He was also enjoyed being an avid golf player.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tony Gamso and Billy Johnson; one sister, Judith Kearby and Amelia "Mia" Gamso, granddaughter.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Shonna Gamso and two sons, Jeremy (Ann) Gamso of Batesville and Brandon (Lauren) Gamso. His grandchildren, Aaron, Alison, Elizabeth, Hope and Jesse Gamso and McKinley Adams. Also, siblings, Doug and Vance Gamso, Barry Johnson, Gwen Henderson and his ATO brothers.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who was full of life. He was loved so much and will be missed dearly, but never forgotten.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 27, 2019 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home from 5-7 pm and a funeral service on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 9 am with David Craig, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Stan Dodson, Steve Ring, Tommy Bennett, Tommy Henderson, Charles Gwaltney, Tony Barnes, Mike Buggica and Dan Parker.
Honorary pallbearers: Aaron, Jesse, Alison, Elizabeth and Hope Gamso, McKinley Adams, Canyon Hardin and Steven Summers.
