Greathel Turner, 96, of Jonesboro passed into Glory to see her Savior face-to-face on Tuesday, August 5, 2026. A life-long Christ-follower, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she leaves a generations-long legacy behind.

She was born on April 30, 1930 in Cash, Arkansas to Edward and Cora Hamilton. She grew up and started a family of her own in nearby Bay, later relocating to Jonesboro.

Greathel loved to travel, to thrift, to garden, and to share a good fish dinner & Diet Dr Pepper with the people she loved. She was a long-time member of Nettleton Church of Christ where she enjoyed years of fellowship. She had a way of bringing humor into most interactions and never shied away from a difficult situation. She was independent, assertive, a little stubborn and often opinionated in a way that was endearing to those who loved her.

Above all , she treasured her family. She took great pride in her children and the families they built and the lives they led.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-two years, Miles Edward "Ed" Turner; five sisters, Marzella, Patty, Annie, Betty, and Bobbie; and three brothers, Hiram (Hi), Bill, and Jim.

Greathel (Greet, Mom, Grandma, Mamaw Ginger) was the matriarch of an ever-growing family who loved her dearly. She is survived by her sons Eddie (Pam) Baker, and Bobbie (Denise) Baker, and her daughter Brenda Brunner; stepchildren Tina Joseff, Mark (Renee) Turner, and Steve (Marilyn) Turner; six Grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) McClellan, James (Felix) Kinsey, Jonathan (Crystal) Baker,, Caleb (Lori) Baker, Amber (Kofi) Armah, Autumn (Jeremy) Long, and Melanie (Marco) Sierra; seventeen great grandchildren Austin McClellan, Haleigh (Zachary) White, Anna (Gabriel) Terry, Cassie (Austin) Torres, Cadence Baker, Octavia Baker, Everlee Baker, Autumn Baker, Katelyn Armah, Khloe Armah, Asa Armah, Stella Story, Abraham Long, Judah Long, Georgia Long, Silas Long, and Jaden Sierra;: and three great-great grandchildren Knox-Austin White, Navy White, and Beaux Terry; and one sister, Brittie (Doyle) McKinney, and so many nieces and nephews, all who cherished her presence in their lives and will hold on to years of memories made.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family and friends hold fast to the truth, knowing she is now resting peacefully, full of joy in the presence of our Lord who she faithfully sought to know & follow throughout her life. Visitation and private graveside service will be announced at a later date.

A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Turners life will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 2 pm at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel, with Jimmy Young officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 1-2. pm. Burial will be private.
