Gordon R. Thompson Sr., 81, of Pocahontas passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at St. Bernards Five Rivers Medical Center.

He was born August 18, 1940 in Sikeston, MO to the late Otis Thompson and Alice M. Rose. Gordon was an avid squirrel hunter and squirrel dog trainer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Thompson and Alice M. Rose.

Gordon is survived by his children, Gordon R. Thompson Jr. of Santa Maria, CA., Gary R. Thompson of Pocahontas, AR., Kathy R. Gill of Lowell, AR., William R. Thompson, and Anna his dog/kid; grandchildren, Gordon Thompson III of Seattle, WA, Jackie Thompson, Zachary Thompson of Santa Maria, CA., Audra Land of Pocahontas, AR., Dustin Thompson of Yellville, AR., Keri Henson of Marmaduke, AR., Kendal Rutledge of Jonesboro, AR., Tyler Murphey of Russellville, AR., Kendall Gill, Kaitlin Johnson of Clarksville, AR., Tyler Gill of Little Rock, AR., Natalie Thompson, Trevor Thompson of Imboden AR., Courtney Gipson, and Caitlin Adams of Pocahontas, AR.; 18 great grandchildren; and siblings Tony Anderson of Pocahontas, AR., Rosemary Anderson Palmer of Chattanooga, TN., and Terry Sue Passalagua of Walnut Ridge, AR.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 AM in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
