Mr. Gordon Arthur J. Dockery of Harrisburg, departed this life Tuesday morning, October 9, 2018, at his home, at the age of 61.
He was born November 26, 1956 in Dallas, Texas, the son of the late Arthur J. Dockery and Jessie Cearley Dockery.
Gordon was a retired engineer from C \u0026 I Electric in Jonesboro and was a U.S. army veteran. He married Mary Ellen Sefers on April 28, 2006, and they enjoyed 12 years together. Gordon was an avid Stock Car Racer and enjoyed spending time at the tracks. He was a member of the Friendship Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Dockery of the home, three daughters, Denise Hester (Kevin) of Bono, Cindy Brittain (Johnny) of Harrisburg and Bobbie Adams (Chris) of Jonesboro, one sister, Jewel Lancaster of Washington, 12 grandchildren, Robert Brittain, Jessica Eldridge (Jeremy), Siara Brittain, Britt Slaughter, Tanner Brittain (Sarah), Adam Brittain, Kaylee Slaughter, Bradley Brittain, Emma Slaughter, Skylar Hester, Kason Knick and Kalin Adams, 5 great grandchildren and two nephews, Flint Grupp and Flount Brooks.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Mankins officiating. Burial will follow in Bolivar Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
