Obituary

Mr. Gordon Browning of Caraway, departed this life Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Flo Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, at the age of 92. He was born October 17, 1920 in Crossett, AR the son of Ira Vinson Browning and Annie Laura Fielder Browning. Gordon was a retired farmer and enjoyed raising cattle. He loved music and singing and his family trips to Mountain View. He enjoyed visiting with people and was said to have never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Taylor Browning, a son and daughter in law, James Linda Browning, three brothers, W.L. Browning, Ercell Browning and Charles Browning, four sisters, Hattie Mae Banton, Verdell Britton, Nell Gunter, and Margalene Watkins, and three great grandchildren, Dacon Clay, Meagan McAfee and Joshua McKinzie. He is survived by four daughters, Maxine Headrick (Charles) of Trumann, Charlene Winstead (Floyd) of Manila, Mildred Tipton (Marvin) of Trumann, and Barbara Henry ( George) of Trumann, three sons, Glen Browning (Connie) of Oregon City, OR, Gerald Browning of Caraway, and William Browning (Gwen) of Jonesboro, 22 grandchildren and 47 great and great -great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Caraway with Rev. Ron Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Caraway. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bobby Barker, Gentry Tipton, Kevin Browning, Rob Browning, Tim McAfee and Daniel Browning. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Brewer, Leo Brewer, Marvin Browning and Ronnie Browning.
