Obituary

Imboden-Glenda Elizabeth (Hackworth) Weitkamp passed away March 25, 2015 at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Glenda was born December 22, 1928 in Randolph County to Lewis and Annie Allred Hackworth. Glenda is survived by her children Sarah "Jeannie" Giboney, Albany, OR; Jim Weitkamp, Hanna City, IL; John Weitkamp, Dill City, OK. Grandchildren Teresa Calicotte, Mapleton, IL; Kim Himegarner,Yates City,IL ; Kevin Giboney, Brier, WA; Travis Giboney, Albany, OR also 6 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis Francis Hackworth and Annie Allred Hackworth, husband of 53 years Gus Edward "Ted" Weitkamp and a sister Opal Lillian Weitkamp Glenda was an avid gardener and quilt maker. She loved sharing the produce from her garden and the food that she lovingly prepared. After the passing of her husband, Glenda and their friend John Statler shared the gardening chores and loved to hunt and fish together. She lived most of her life in the Pocahontas/Imboden area except during the years she and Ted were raising a family in Peoria, IL. Glenda owned and operate a beauty salon in Peoria. When they retired, they moved to a farm on Eleven Point River near Imboden and later moved to their home in Pocahontas.. When Glenda was no longer able to stay in her Imboden home, she went into nursing care, first in Pocahontas and then into Walnut Ridge, where she peacefully passed away with family at her side. Glenda's wishes were fulfilled by her family and she was cremated . The family will have Interment at a later date at Sharum Cemetery.
