Obituary
Gladys Mae Garner 97, of Pocahontas passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Gladys was born April 27, 1923 in Sikeston, MO to Charlie and Bessie Eubank Dowdy. She was a beautician in the Pocahontas area for many years.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Clifton Ballard and Joe Garner; one daughter Dorothy Rice.
She was survived by one son, Jerry Ballard of Pocahontas; three grandchildren, Jerri Nelson, Michelle Ballard, and Clifton Ballard; five great grandchildren; one sister Elizabeth Williams.
There will be a graveside service Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in the Masonic Cemetery with Clyde Hackworth officiating.
To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
