Pocahontas-Geraldine Hightower Steimel, 84, passed away Wednesday October 23, 2013 at Randolph Home Nursing Home. Geraldine was born February 3,1929 in Pocahontas, AR. to the late Homer and Edith Hightower. Geraldine is survived by sons; Danny and Betty Steimel and James and Stella Steimel of Pocahontas, daughters; Bonny Schmidt of Pocahontas, Jeanie Hefner of Hot Springs. Grandchildren; Holly Magby of Poplar Bluff, MO., Brandon Steimel of Pocahontas, Lance and Leigh Schmidt, Brent and Nicole Schmidt, Joe and Lori Steimel, Shelly and Travis James, Terri and Philip Jansen, Craig and Rebecca Steimel of Pocahontas,David Hefner of Friendly, MN, Phillip Hefner of Hot Springs, Marcus Hefner of Little Rock, Andy Hefner of Lompoc, CA. Sisters Diane Kincade and Brenda Eveland and 15 great grandkids. Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband Leo Steimel,, parents; Homer and Edith Hightower, son Leo Dean Steimel, daughter; Gail Steimel, sisters; Mildred Dachs, Wanda Robinson, Donna Gay-Smith, Nelda Pulley, Clair Katherine Wheat, Joan Davis, son-in-law, Albert Schmidt. Geraldine enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and cooking, she was an excellent quilter and made each child and grandchild a quilt. She loved to play cards, bingo, dominoes and playing wheel of fortune. She was quick witted and loved telling jokes. Visitation will be Sunday October 27, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the McNabb Fuenral Home Chapel with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. Service will be Monday October 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St John's Catholic Church with Father Athanasius Okeiyi officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you leave a Lasting memorial to St. John's Church or St. Paul's School.
