Mrs. Georgia Marie English Smith, of Cherry Valley, departed this life Friday, October 14, 2016 at her home, at the age of 81.
She was born July 5, 1935 in Manila, AR, the daughter of the late George and Helen Russell English. She married Raymond A. Smith on October 19, 1950 in Harrisburg. They moved to Rockford, Illinois in December of 1952, where they lived for thirty-eight years. They moved back to Bay Village in January of 1991.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Smith in 2010; four brothers, Eugene English, George English Jr., a stillborn and Lehman English, two sisters, Dorthy Stewart and Lillion Christopher, and a grandson, Micheal Eash.
She is survived by a son, Raymond Dale Smith of Cherry Valley, four daughters, Jan King (Ron) of Winnebago, IL, Shirley Amsbough (Jon) of Roscoe, IL, Patsy Linley (John) of Rockford, IL and Wanda Smith of Spring Hill, AR; a sister, Glenda Carroll of Horseshoe Bend, AR; sister-in-law, Pauline English Sawyer of Wyoming; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many more love ones and friends.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at First Assembly of God Church in Harrisburg. Interment to follow at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gregg- Weston Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Wednesday at the church.
She is hoping to see everyone at the family reunion over there, when their life is over. It has actually just began alive with Jesus.
