George Patrick Smith, 69, of Pocahontas, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at St. Bernards Regional Center in Jonesboro.

He was born June 23, 1951 in Garrett, IN to the late William J and Reida Mae Smith Collins.

George "Pat" was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William M. Smith; sister, Carol Yvonne Biby; step-father, Gale Eugene Collins; and grandson, Thomas Schwall.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Smith; children, Gina (Kevin) Barnett of Jonesboro, Patrick (Kristi) Smith of Pocahontas, Rodney (Terry) Smith of Des Allemands, LA, and his 4 legged son Tank; grandchildren, Cody Barnett and Josie (Jordan) Boudreaux of Jonesboro, Justin Smith of Polock, LA, Joseph Smith of Des Allemands, LA, Winter Smith, Oceana Smith, and Ryan (Heather) Smith of Pocahontas, Tara Zeringue and Cara Waddell of Luling, LA, and Tori Zeringue of Lafayette, LA; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dennis Smith of Decatur, IL, David Smith of Jonesboro, Daniel Smith of Boutte, LA, Jeannie Jansen and Tim Collins of Sidney, AR, Connie Collins, and Martin Collins, of Decatur, IL and many other step brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2020 from 1-2 P.M. with services at 2 P.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pat Smith Family Cemetery.

To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
