Obituary

George E. Mills, 93, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, formerly of Kennard, passed away Tuesday, April 05, 2016 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. Loving husband of the late Anna J. Baltz whom they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. George was born on December 3, 1922 in Lapel, son of the late John M. and Grace D. (Roudebush) Mills. He graduated from Lapel High school in 1941, moved on to work for General Motors in Anderson for 30 years. George loved people and being involved, he was formerly a member of Lapel Lodge FAM # 625 and presently of Black Rock Lodge FAM #476, Black Rock Arkansas. He was a Farm Bureau member, active at Pocahontas Lions Club, life member of Scottish Rite Indianapolis Valley, life member of Murat Shrine, Kennard Brotherhood and Sisterhood, Cattleman's Association of Randolph Co., Arkansas, Knights of Columbus, Pocahontas, AR and parishioner at St. Paul's Catholic Church Pocahontas, AR. George loved farming and spending time with his family. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Rebecca "Becky" (husband: Shirley) Marsh, of Anderson, IN, Robert "Bob" (wife: Pearl) Mills of New Castle, IN, Connie (husband: Larry) Price, of New Castle, IN, Gregory (wife: Debra) Mills, of Dothan, AL, Carey (wife: Toni) Mills of Shirley, IN; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Velma (husband: John) Klusener and a brother, Charles (wife: Debbie) Mills both of Anderson, IN and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in July of 2012, two sisters, one brother, one grandson and several brother and sister-in-laws. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle where a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the Lapel Lodge FAM #625. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the graveside from 10:00 - 12:30 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home, 2129 N. Park St, Pocahontas, AR 72455.
