Mrs. Genoveva Maria Garcia, of Harrisburg, departed this life Monday, July 18, 2016, at her home surrounded by family, at the age of 57. She was born June 17, 1959 in Tamazula, Mexico, the daughter of the late Francisco Cordova and Felicitas Miranda. She married Gilberto Garcia on May 8, 1991 and they enjoyed 25 years together. They moved here from California and Genoveva worked at Betty's Restaurant for 20 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and traveling. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended church at Ministeria Cristiano Dias Habla Hay in Jonesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Maria Carmen Cordova and one brother, Arnulfo Cordova. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gilberto Garcia of the home, two sons, Luis Rodriguez (Susie) of Jonesboro and Gilbert Garcia, Jr. Harrisburg, one daughter, Maritza Navarrette of Jonesboro, four sisters, Lorenza Cordova (Carlos) of Mexico, Maria Cordova of California, Anita Huantes (Jose) of California and Felicitas Garcia (Francisco) of Harrisburg, two brothers, Francisco Cordova of Texas and Hector Cordova of California, and five grandchildren, Nathanael Rodriguez, Nicolas Rodriguez, Liarah Garcia, Julian Garcia, and Aubrey Mia Perez. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Pedro Reynoso officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Those serving as pallbearers will be Luis Rodriguez, Gilbert Garcia, Ricardo Lomeli, Andy Garcia, Edgar Garcia, and Francisco Cordova.
