Jonesboro- Geneva Alma West, 88, passed Monday, September 1, 2014 at Flo Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born September 13, 1925 in Black Oak to the late Joseph H. and Anna Lee Dunkerson Hooker. Mrs. West was a member of the Strawfloor Baptist Church and loved her family, gardening and flowers. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Bill and Jean West of Jonesboro, Ronnie and Reanne West of Paragould and Carolyn and Terrel Watkins of Jonesboro; a brother, Lester Hooker of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Terri Duckworth (Tom), Stephen Watkins, Billy Wayne West (Gina), Bobby Gene Hall (Pat), Jami Belly (Ed) and Justin West (Amy); four great-grandchildren, Tristan, Katie, Jacob and Nate; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray West; four brothers, Albert Hooker, Virgil Hooker, Raymond Hooker and Chester Hooker; a sister, Bertha Meadows. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stan Ballard and Rev. Harold Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8:00 Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Ave in Jonesboro. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Stephen Todd Watkins, Billy Wayne West, Justin West, Bobby Gene Hall, Thomas Duckworth and Ed Belly.
