Mrs. Geneva Mangrum of Caraway, departed this life on Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City, at the age of 90.

She was born March 17, 1932 in Hancock Community, AR near Caraway, the daughter of the late William Clay Killough and Bonnie Kirby Killough.

Geneva graduated Caraway High School and attended the Baptist Hospital Nursing School in Little Rock and became a certified RN in 1952.  Most of her nursing career was spent in Nursing Homes in Caraway and Monette. She retired from nursing after more than 50 years.  She was a wonderful mother and a fantastic caregiver.  She loved her family, her church, and spending time at the Caraway Senior Life Center.  She married Roy Mangrum and they enjoyed 25 years together before his death in 1997. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three sons, Randy Couch (Kim), Fred Couch (Lesia), and Terry Couch (Cyndi), all of Caraway, two step daughters, Diane Sharp and Vickie Brewer, both of Jonesboro, two sisters, Helen Adams of Jonesboro and Barbara McGoff of Lucy, TN,  eleven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. In addition to her parents and her husband Roy, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Glenn Couch, one brother, Ollie Brooks, and one grandchild, Curtis Brewer.

Funeral services are set for Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at the New Hope Baptist Church in Black Oak, with Brother Heath Hawkins and Brother Rick Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the church in Black Oak, Sunday evening, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Randy Couch, Fred Couch, Terry Couch, Cade Couch, Wayne Couch and Jacob Couch.  Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Caraway Senior Life Center.
