Geneva Evelyn (Meeks) Leathers, 96, of Pocahontas went to be with the Lord Friday, December 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Geneva was born in Pocahontas, to the late James Arthur Meeks and Stella Nora Williams on September 3, 1927.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Stella Meeks; husband, Clint Leathers; daughters, Geneva Adamae Leathers and Della Marie Thatch; brothers, Darvin Meeks, Doyle Meeks and Gene Meeks; sisters, Pauline Swinney and Nona Hargis; grandson, James Clinton Jenkins; great-great grandson, Emmett Wallace.

Geneva is survived by her daughter, Rita (Ralph) Jenkins of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Susan (Tim) Luetkens of Pocahontas, Sandra (Mark) Lowtharp of Pocahontas, Sharon (Randle) Sorg of Powhattan, Shelia Hancock of Oxley, MO., Cindy (Donald) Nichols of Clever, MO., and Jonathan (Karen) Thatch of Pocahontas; fifteen great-grandchildren, thirty-two great-great grandchildren and four great-great-great grandchildren; siblings, J.C. (Jinkie) Meeks of Doniphan, MO., and Larry Meeks of Pocahontas; many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2023 in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Chesser Cemetery with Terry Miller officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jon Thatch, TK Lowtharp, Dextor Sorg, Clint Sorg, Brian Sorg and Hunter Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Brysen Karr, Ethan Sorg, Shawn Tate, Nathan Sutton, Travis Thatch, Kellen Lowtharp and Jacob Sorg.
