Obituary

Gary Lynn Cooper, 58, passed from this life on September 6, 2013. He was born to Joyce Waymon Cooper and Ray Cooper December 5, 1954,in Randolph County Hospitial. He has resided in Jonesboro, where his company is located, for the past 10 years. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his Grandparents, Arthur and Ada Cooper, and Fred and Edna Waymon. Gary is survived by his sister Donna (Dave) McComas of Memphis and brother Dennis of Carthage, TX; nephews, Jeremy Cooper and Rodney Cooper; nieces Ashlea (Eric) Montgomery and Amy Cooper (deceased); great-nephew Chandler, and great-niece Evan; and loving companions Meem and Solomon. Gary has many special cousins who love him dearly, and special friends Tony and Jamie Reed, Emily, Lacie, and Tess. He is also survived by his Aunt Shirley Reed of N. Little Rock, and Uncle Vaughn Bennett of Sherwood. Gary was baptized at Eastside Church of Christ, and in later years was a member of Westridge Church of Christ. There is a special place in Heaven reserved for him, with Mother and Daddy, Julie and Amy. Gary was a graduate of Pocahontas High School and Arkansas State University, and was a Veteran of the Armed Services. A creative young man, Gary began inventing Slick Trick broadheads and blades in the 1980s. Between 1990 and 2012, he obtained 13 hunting and exercise-related patents and subsequently manufactured and distributed products through Slick Trick. Gary\u0027s revolutionary broadhead design started the whole "super short" revolution in 2000. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - noon on Saturday, September 14,2013 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Homewith Funeral Services following at noon. Gerald Fears will officiate.Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens. Pallbearersinclude Alan Bass, Danny Waymon, John Seagraves, John David Junkersfield, Richard Coonce, and Sterling Lawrence.
