Gana Iva Frier, 96, of Pocahontas passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Randolph Home.
She was born October 12, 1924 in Biggers to the late Henry and Lena Samons Meridith. She was retired from Brown Shoe Company, was a member of the Red Hatters, Extension Homemakers Club, and Shannon Baptist Church.
Gana was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lena Meridith; husband, Carl Frier; son, Ralph Dennis Frier; and siblings, Velma Marlett, Charles Meridith, Norman Meridith, Erma Brooks, Louise Looney, Glenna Cox, Retha Hart, and Leola Bland.
Gana is survived by three children, Donna Kelly of Mobile, AL, Wesley (Jan) Frier of Pocahontas, and Randy (Tracey) Frier of Pocahontas; five grandchildren, Leah Craft, Cassie Jones, Allyson Frier, Dottie Weston, and Jeremiah Frye; five great grandchildren, Carlie Jones, Jace Jones, Aiden Craft, Megan Wicker, and Justin Wicker; one great-great grandchild, Layne Thrasher; brother, Glen Meridith of Maynard, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 10-11 AM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 11 AM with Michael Freeman and Larry Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery.
